The first face-to-face transnational project meeting for the Erasmus+ project WOODCircle took place on the 23rd-24th of May. Partners travelled from Spain (AMBIT), France (IPRA/ MEDEF), Hungary (Fabunio) and Italy (FLA and COSMOB) to the Connemara campus of Atlantic Technological University (ATU), who is the coordinator of the project. The project is a continuation of the Erasmus+ project WOODigital, which recently earned the “Best practice” award.

The main topics of discussion included the finalisation of the professional profile, dissemination activities, the structure of the digital platform that will host the online training materials, the content and structure of the curriculum.

As foreseen in the project proposal, the training course, that will focus on transitioning to circular economy, will include 4 Learning Units (LU):

UNIT 1: Overview of the Circular Economy for Furniture Companies

UNIT 2: Sustainable materials

UNIT 3: Circular design

UNIT 4: Resources, manufacturing, and waste

An important part of Erasmus+ projects is the cultural exchange and learning about different European cultures. This meeting provided a unique opportunity for the participants to learn about Irish culture, while discovering the region of Connemara, including Kylemore Abbey, Killary Fjord, Glassilaun beach and the Connemara National Park. Additionally, this meeting enabled to strengthen and maintain great collaborative spirits amongst project partners.
